“Il Valore delle Mani” (“The Value of Hands”) is a theatre show based on cultural research into the world of work that showcases the role of manual workers in various production fields. People’s hands help to produce things of all sizes: they represent the future of social justice, respect for the personality and subjectivity of every single human being, democracy, and schools.
This was the concept behind an initiative devised and developed by Marco Arturo Messina to express the values of solidarity, respect for work, and fresh consideration for the blue collar world.
The show was accompanied by painstaking photographic research that led to an exhibition entitled “Il Tempo delle Mani” (“A Time for Hands”).
The project was presented during the 15th Mittelfest Festival in Cividale del Friuli (near Udine).
