PIERMAR10 – M.Y.A.

To mark the tenth anniversary of the death of the Friulian artist, publisher, photographer and networker Piermario Ciani, a day of outdoor gatherings, performances, exhibitions and sounds was organized in the places where he spent decades launching engaging artistic projects that knew no bounds (including Mind Invaders, TRAX, Stickerman, Luther Blissett, and F.U.N.).

My personal contribution to the important project entitled Archiv10 MOBile – M.Y.A. 2016 – Move Your Archives Decentralized World Congress took the form of a series of portraits of the people involved in the “Ciano Blu Machine” initiative. They were used to create:

• A GIF with part of Piermario’s face popping up on each of the portraits, in a specially segmented piece of pop art;
• A 90×240 cm installation paying tribute to Piermario’s mail art;
• A huge leaflet that was 18 cm tall and 7 m long, three numbered and signed copies of which were made. It was entitled “Facce in Scatola” (“Faces in a Box”) and all of the pictures from the GIF were printed on it.
